DHE

DHE were established in 1995 and became an Agency of the Ministry of Defence on 1st April 1999, having taken over responsibility for all Service Families Accommodation (SFA) in Great Britain from the Armed Services on 1st April 1996.The role of DHE helps facilitate Service mobility and retention and contributes to the overall living standards of Service famiies by providing good quality accommodation.In November 1996 most of the MOD's housing stock in England and Wales was sold to Annington Homes Ltd (AHL). DUe to different leasing laws, properties in Scotland remain an MOD asset. The AHL homes retained for use by Service families are leased back and DHE remains responsible for the maintenance, upgrade and lease payments on these properties.

Periodically, contractors change, as do emergency procedures. In view of this an �Emergency Procedure Leaflet� is issued separately or in the Families Bulletin. Please ensure that you keep this handy. The following are not considered emergencies:
Defective cookers
Electrical circuit fuses
Taps requiring new washers
Leaking radiators
Broken glass in windows
Unserviceable door locks
